February Block for Color Challenge
Reminding me of spools, this month’s block for the Patterns by Jen 2021 Monthly Color Challenge may look tricky to assemble, but it’s not. A lemon was the prompt for this month, so you know it has to be bright yellow. I went for the brightest yellow I had for my February block for the color challenge.
As with January, I stuck with the same grey and white floral background. I’ll be using that throughout this quilt along which makes it kind of easy for me. I only have to raid my scrap bins for the colored fabric.
Color Prompt
When I learned that the lemon was the prompt for this month I knew exactly what fabric I was going to use. I just crossed my fingers that there would be enough in my scrap bin so that I could make the block.
Luckily there was, so it turned out as bright and lemony as it can be. Maybe it will bring some warm weather with it too!
About the February Block for Color Challenge
Made with half square triangles and squares, it is another easy block to assemble. If you follow along on my blog you will quickly realize that those are my favorite kind! The placement of the units gives the block lots of movement. I think it would make a lovely scrap quilt.
About the Challenge
Every year Jen has a color challenge quilt along. This year, like last, there are generous sponsors and quarterly prizes for some lucky winners.
Head over to the Patterns by Jen website for all of the information about this fun challenge.
My Other Blocks
So far we have done one other block for the year and it was a pretty purple one inspired by the eggplant.
Happy Quilting!
