The 2020 Create with Claudia Mystery Quilt Along Pattern – Sparkling Sampler
It’s hard for me to believe that we made it! The first annual event that I have hosted is finishing up with this post. So without further ado… may I present the free mystery quilt along pattern.
When I first started designing this project, I wasn’t sure people would be interested. Boy was I wrong. As of writing this, there are almost 500 members in the Create with Claudia quilt along facebook group. So many of them have been sharing their progress along the way.
I have been touched by all of the support and I hope that everyone who has joined in has enjoyed the quilt along as much as I have.
With that being said, to date we have made 33 blocks and are ready to assemble the top. Below, you will find the quilt layout as well as row by row directions. This is an easy top to put together. The only hiccup is the center section, but honestly, that is easy too.
Variations of Mystery Quilt Along Pattern
While what I will be demonstrating is the final version of the quilt, you can easily change it up any way you want to if you prefer. At the end of this article you will find a photo of the quilt made by my extremely helpful tester. She added a border around the outside and I think it looks terrific.
There is also a person who is only making one of each block and putting together a small wall hanging for her kitchen. I can’t wait to see that one!
Just have fun with it and make sure to post a picture of your final quilt to social media! Make sure to use the hashtag below so we can all see your beautiful work!

You can head over to Instagram and see some lovely versions too. I hsave been amazed at all of the wonderful color combinations that people have been using.

I put together a quick video demonstrating how the quilt top comes together.

Next Year’s Quilt Along
I am happy to say that I will be hosting another mystery quilt beginning in January next year. The 2021 mystery quilt, entitled “Stars of the Prairie”, will be larger, measuring about 72″ x 84″ when finished.
You can find out all of the details about it here.
Thanks so much for joining in! I hope to see you next year!
Happy Quilting!

December 1, 2020 at 11:23 AMThe pink and purple one is my favorite one also! I like how the purple is in the outside corners but they are all lively.

December 29, 2020 at 4:13 PMI can’t wait to start this. I have studied your pattern and the only thing i would like, if possible, are the dimensions and fabric cutting directions for the December square.
I will be signing up for the 2021 sew along! Love this idea

December 30, 2020 at 10:36 AMGreat. There is no block for December, only assembling the whole top. I figured that was enough for the month. Have fun and glad you are joining in!
