November Monthly Color Challenge for the Patterns by Jen 2020 Event
Despite the fact that I could not press my one block to save my life, I managed to finish it. For some reason that batik fabric was not in the mood to cooperate with my iron! No matter though, the November monthly color challenge quilt block for the Patterns by Jen quilt along is done and I think it looks pretty good.
The color prompt for this month was buff, which I had to double check on. This was about as close as I got, although to be honest, I always thought that buff had a bit more of a peach/pink tone to it.
I like this month’s pattern. It kind of reminds me of a flower. It was inspired by the Buff-Breasted Sandpiper bird and when I looked up pictures, the design and colors are pretty much on par with what the bird looks like.
As in all of the previous months, I am doing two versions, one in only the color of the month, and the other with a white background. Jen also had the option of doing a black background, which I think would look terrific too.
My Other Version of the November Monthly Color Challenge Block
I will say that the white background really makes the colors pop, but it is a bit more difficult to sew because it’s a lot easier to see problems with points. But if you know me, you know that I like a challenge, so it was fun for me.
